Nopali Initial Setup
Installing Nopali
The Nopali System includes 3 components: the database, the Nopali Administrator Application and the Nopali Application. It is best to install these in a stepwise fashion:
- Database Installation: The database installation is done by using the backup file that was sent to you. You basically double-click on the backup package to run the installer. Further details can be found here.
- Nopali Administrator Installation: During the installation process described above, a copy of the Nopali Administrator will be placed in the /Applications folder, by default. Just follow the default options during the database installation process.
- Nopali Installation: You can use the Nopali Administrator to get the latest version of Nopali, with details found here. A copy should be placed on all computers that need to connect to the database. It is always best to create a zip file of the application before copying to a new computer. Creating a zip file is built into OS X and is done using the Finder 'File>Compress' menu item.
At this stage, you should run through the setup instructions for the Nopali Administrator. The starting point for Nopali Administrator setup is found here. Once the Nopali Administrator has been properly configured, you can carry on with the additional setup sections found below:
